Bis- and tris(tetrathiafulvalene) (TTF) amphiphiles 17-20 have been prepared by coupling together the mono-TTF derivatives 7, 9, 14 and 16. These novel bis- and tris-TTF amphiphiles showed improved stability in monolayer formation on a water surface, as compared to the mono-TTF-derivatives, and were deposited to give Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films.
